About the Retreat
Who is this retreat for?
Any man who feels like he’s showing up to life — work, relationships, the day-to-day — but senses something is quietly missing. You don’t need to be in crisis. You just need to be curious. Whether you’re looking for community, more confidence, more space to play and reflect, or simply want to do something meaningful with a long weekend, this is for you. See what the retreat actually looks like →
Is this a therapy retreat or a wellness program?
No. Here We Are isn’t therapy, and it’s not a self-help program with worksheets and breathing exercises. It’s an intentionally designed experience built around real connection, skilled facilitators, physical activity, and time away from the noise. Think of it more like a meaningful adventure with the right people — structured enough to go somewhere, open enough to surprise you.
Is this a religious retreat?
Not at all. Here We Are is open to men of all backgrounds, beliefs, and walks of life. There is no religious component, no ideology to adopt, and no agenda beyond genuine connection and presence.
How many spots are available?
Each retreat is capped at 16 participants. That’s intentional — the room only works when it’s intimate enough for everyone to actually connect. Small enough to know everyone’s name by the end of the first night.
Logistics
When and where is the next retreat?
The next retreat is being planned for summer or fall, likely somewhere in Maine. Exact dates and location will be announced when confirmed. The best way to stay in the loop is to submit an application — that way you’re already in the conversation when details drop. View the retreat page for the latest →
How long is the retreat?
A long weekend — typically Thursday evening through Sunday morning, or Friday evening through Monday morning. Long enough to actually unplug and go somewhere meaningful, not so long that it’s hard to commit to.
What’s included in the cost?
Lodging, meals, facilitated workshops, and all shared group experiences throughout the weekend are included. Pricing varies by retreat. I’ve also offered early bird pricing for those who commit early — it’s my way of rewarding the guys who don’t overthink it. See full retreat details →
What do I need to bring?
Specific packing details are shared after you’re confirmed. The short version: dress for the environment, bring clothes you can move in, and leave the laptop at home. Everything else will be covered in your pre-retreat information.
The Application
What does the application process look like?
You fill out a short application that gives me a sense of who you are and what you’re looking for. Once I’ve reviewed it, I’ll reach out to schedule a quick call — a vibe check for both of us. It’s a chance for me to understand where you’re at, and for you to ask anything you want about the experience. If it feels like a good fit on both ends, we’ll move forward from there.
Why is there an application at all?
Because the group dynamic matters as much as anything else on the retreat. With only 16 spots, I want to make sure every person in the room is going to contribute to — and benefit from — the experience. The application isn’t a filter to keep people out. It’s how I make sure the people who show up are actually ready to show up.
Who is eligible to apply?
Any man. I don’t discriminate — if you identify as a man and feel called to this, I want to hear from you. Age, background, fitness level, profession — none of that is a barrier. The only thing I’m assessing is whether you’re genuinely open to the experience.
How long does the process take?
The application takes about five minutes. I aim to follow up within a few days to schedule the call. From there, if we’re both in, we’ll get you confirmed quickly — especially if early bird pricing is still available.
The Experience
Do I need prior experience with the retreat’s theme?
No. Every retreat is designed to be accessible regardless of your background or experience level. You don’t need to know how to ski to show up at a ski retreat — you just need an open mind, a willingness to try something new, and the ability to get comfortable being a little uncomfortable. That’s it.
What does a typical day look like?
Each day has a rhythm — mornings tend to be active and energizing, afternoons move into facilitated workshops or skill-based sessions, and evenings are intentionally unstructured so real conversation can happen. The schedule is designed to leave room for the unexpected, because that’s usually where the best stuff comes from. See the full itinerary →
Is it intense? Will I be pushed out of my comfort zone?
Yes — intentionally, but never recklessly. Getting comfortable with discomfort is a core part of what makes these retreats meaningful. That might mean trying something physically challenging, being honest in a group setting, or simply sitting with stillness when you’re used to filling every moment. You’re always in control of your own experience. Nobody is forced into anything.
Who are the facilitators?
Every facilitator is someone I have a real relationship with and genuine respect for. They’re not hired speakers or generic retreat coaches — they’re people who are genuinely exceptional at what they do and willing to share it in a real way. The theme of each retreat is built around their expertise. Meet the people behind Here We Are →
After the Retreat
What happens after the retreat ends?
The weekend ends. The community doesn’t. Every Here We Are alumni becomes part of an ongoing group — people who’ve been in the same room, done the same hard and joyful things together, and want to stay in each other’s lives. That’s the part I’m most proud of.
Can I come back for future retreats?
Absolutely. Alumni are always welcome to apply for future retreats. Each one has a different theme, different facilitators, and a different mix of people — so even if some faces are familiar, the experience will be new.
I’m interested in facilitating a future retreat. How does that work?
I’m always looking for people who are exceptional at what they do and willing to share it in a genuine way. Every facilitator I’ve worked with is someone I already have a real relationship with — so if you feel pulled toward this, let’s start that conversation. Get in touch →
Still have a question?
I’d rather you reach out than talk yourself out of applying. Send me a message directly or just go ahead and fill out the application — we can work through any questions on the call.
